A Feast of Watercolour

Course Overview

Here is a great way to further your watercolor experience! 

A feast of watercolor covering 3 genres of painting all completed in one session.

During this workshop, students will undertake and complete a still life, landscape, and animal painting with step-by-step guidance provided to guarantee a satisfying outcome. Whether new to the medium or experienced, each project will offer students tips and techniques to produce a beautiful, fluid watercolor painting.

Students will learn colour mixing, drawing skills, brush selection, and paint application techniques to produce three resolved and vibrant artworks.

Materials 
  • Watercolours in a tray format
  • Watercolour pencils and paints
  • Watercolour paper or cartridge paper (150 grams or more)
  • HB pencils
  • Watercolour brushes (standard sizes)

About the tutor

Richard Byrnes

Richard is a practising artist, having held 23 solo and over 100 group exhibitions in Australia and overseas. Having extensive teaching experience to draw upon, he is committed to teaching sound drawing and sculpture techniques in ways that are clear and accessible. His core belief is that art should be exciting and joyous. Richards works are included in the National Gallery, University of NSW, Artbank, Macquarie University and various regional gallery collections. His public sculpture commissions can be seen in North Sydney, Marrickville and Macquarie University. He is represented by the Robin Gibson Gallery in Sydney.
