About the tutor

Lyndall McKee

Hi I'm Lyndall.I have been teaching watercolour classes at North Sydney Community Centre since 2007. I was encouraged to embark on a career as an artist by an award I received as a young teenager u2013 the prestigious Certificate of Merit in the Department of Education's u2018Exhibitor of Child Art'. From this promising beginning I spent over 40 years studying, practising, exhibiting and teaching my craft. I started my career as junior to prominent illustrators Jenny Sages and Jon Hawley, progressing to senior positions as a visualise and illustrator for many of Sydney's leading advertising agencies. This has given me a sound understanding of the elements of graphic design and the creative process as it applies to the commercial world. My work is now centered on painting in watercolour and mixed media. I have exhibited widely, including two solo exhibitions. With the experience gained from a lifetime of studying art u2013 full and part time u2013 I have turned to teaching and now enjoy passing on my love of art to my students. I have taught illustration, drawing and visual techniques in graphic design, as well as the popular watercolours classes here at NSCC.
