Nuno Felting (Workshop)
Course Overview
Create Your Own Nuno-Felted Artwork!
Discover the magic of Nuno felting, a unique textile art that blends wool fibers with open-weave or sheer fabric to create stunning textures and patterns. As the wool shrinks during the wet felting process, it forms beautiful designs that give the fabric an elegant drape – perfect for scarves, wearables and creative textile projects.
Under the expert guidance of Gill, you will learn step by step how to craft your own Nuno-felted scarf, however, if you prefer to experiment with a more patchwork style Gill is happy to facilitate that. She will bring in a treasure trove of samples for you to get inspired by and take you through a few different ways you can work with these materials.
This technique is also a wonderful way to upcycle old scarves or clothing made from open-weave natural fibers – so feel free to bring along anything you’d like to incorporate into your piece.
No prior experience needed, just a willingness to explore! While the process involves some mild repetitive motion, the results are truly magical.
At the end of the workshop, you will take home a beautifully handcrafted Nuno-felted scarf or fabric piece, along with all the knowledge and notes you need to continue your felting journey at home.
