Course Overview
Join us for a creative and hands-on Pottery Summer Edition!
This three-week course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental techniques and concepts of pottery!
Whether you are a complete novice or have some previous experience, this course will provides a solid foundation in the basics of clay work.
Throughout the course, students are taught the necessary skills for hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil and slab construction, as well as wheel throwing. Basic decoration and glazing techniques are also covered. Additionally, students will learn about the properties of clay, firing and glazing.
No prior experience is necessary, but students should be prepared to get their hands dirty and be willing to experiment and have fun with clay.

Clay is included in the total cost of this 3-week course.

Victoria De Aboitiz
Hi, I am Victoria! I studied Ceramics in various studios in South America. I've been teaching at NSCC since 2022. My background influences my understanding of ceramics by highlighting the conception of community and cultural ceramic traditions in the making and guides me to work with local materials extracted by myself. I'm constantly learning from all environments, exploring techniques and technologies in my studio in Sydney's Inner West. Bridging different worlds is a special place for my work to occur in.
