Course Overview
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Spanish and take your language skills to the next level!
In this interactive and engaging course, you'll build on your foundation in Spanish and develop the confidence to communicate effectively in everyday situations.
Weekly Breakdown
Week 1: "Verbs in Action"
- Grammar: Regular -AR, -ER, and -IR verbs (present tense). Irregular Verbs.
- Vocabulary: Action verbs and phrases related to daily activities
Week 2: "Reflexive Verbs"
- Grammar: Reflexive verbs (present tense)
- Vocabulary: Verbs that require reflexive pronouns (e.g., levantarse, acostarse, etc.)
Week 3: "Daily Routines"
- Using reflexive verbs in daily routines
- Vocabulary: Phrases and expressions related to morning and evening routines
Week 4: "Family Ties"
- Vocabulary: More on family members and relationships. Physical and personality traits.
- Grammar: Revision of possessive adjectives (mi, tu, su, etc.)
Week 5: "To Have in Spanish"
- Grammar: Using "tener" to express possession and physical sensations
- Vocabulary: Expressions related to emotions and physical sensations
Week 6: "Health and Wellness"
- Vocabulary: Parts of the body, common illnesses, and medications
- Conversation: Going to the doctor and discussing health issues
Week 7: "Around the House"
- Vocabulary: Prepositions of place (en, sobre, bajo, etc.)
- Conversation: Describing rooms and furniture in the home
Week 8: "Planning a Trip"
- Vocabulary: Travel-related vocabulary (e.g., hotel, aeropuerto, etc.)
- Conversation: Planning a trip and discussing holiday plans
Note: Each lesson includes conversation, listening, and reading practice to help students develop their skills in a comprehensive way. _
Course Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will:
- Develop their vocabulary related to daily routines, family, and health
- Be able to communicate orally with greater confidence, using correct grammar and vocabulary in context.
Term Dates
Term 2 runs from Tuesday 29 April to Tuesdau 17 June
Term 3 runs from Tuesday 22 July to Tuesday 9 September
Term 4 runs from Tuesday 14 October to Tuesday 2 December

About the tutor
Roy Gerente
A passion for Italy and its culture took Roy on a life journey of exploration which started in Greece and led to her Italian citizenship.
She studied Italian language and literature and obtained a master's degree in teaching Italian to foreigners from the University of Venice.
She taught Italian to adults and children for several years in group and individual settings. She has attended specialisation courses in Italy and worked in a corporate environment in Rome and Athens.
In her class, students are encouraged to participate in a fun and relaxing environment where mistakes are welcomed as friends.
