Kids Only ‘Behind the Scenes’ Northside Produce Market tours

Kids, join the Northside Produce Market ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour led by passionate food advocate, educator, and chef Elena Duggan, curated especially for curious, young, food lovers ages 6-14.

This immersive journey lets children experience the vibrant world of this farmers and artisan food producers market, in an interactive and engaging way. Kids will get up close with passionate, local food producers, exploring the journey of food from the farm to the market stall. They'll learn how fruits, vegetables and artisanal products are grown, raised, or crafted with care.

Elena’s expert insights make the tour educational, highlighting the value of seasonal produce, sustainability and community. With hands-on opportunities to touch, taste and ask questions, young participants will leave with new knowledge, inspiration and even fresh additions to their shopping list and some new recipe ideas to try! 

Whether it’s discovering how macadamias are grown or tasting fresh, locally baked bread, this tour provides a unique educational outing that strengthens kids' connection to food, the environment and the people who make it all possible.

  • Parents or guardians are required to supervise their kids whilst on tour, but the tour participation is for the kids only.
  • Preference is given to those who have not been on a tour before.
