Zonta Sip and Stuff - Breast Cushion

Calling volunteers to join us for our ‘sip and stuff’ breast care cushion project.

Each year Zonta provides cushions to women in Sydney and rural hospitals (e.g. Royal North Shore Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Camperdown) to increase their comfort after breast surgery. These pillows are not provided by hospitals.

They are not only welcomed for their practical use, but because they are handmade and offer thoughts of care and good wishes during this difficult time.

The following thanks from one breast care cushion recipient shows how the work you do is appreciated.

“It was so special to receive that gift that was obviously so lovingly wrapped and presented to me. I felt the love and care that had gone into making it. …………….. Since then I have slept with my special pillow every night and have used it when I go for my daily walks as well as to protect the area from the seatbelt in the car. It really does help to relieve the pain.”

Afternoon tea provided.  We welcome both those who can sew and those who cannot to help stuff, wrap and organise 250 cushions.
